Out and About in the Arboretum

August 7, 2026 – Hydrangea
Hydrangeas (the name comes from Greek and means ‘water vessel’) will be blooming for just a bit longer so be sure to enjoy them while you can!

July 31, 2026 – Lagerstroemia
It is a great time to be a Crape Myrtle! You can see them blooming all over campus in shades of red, pink and white.

July 24, 2026 – Rudbeckia
Rudbeckia hirta, or Black-eyed Susan, is putting on quite a show of abundance and bright color in Court 22 right now.

July 17, 2026 – Weeping Redbud
The weeping Eastern Redbud in Court 16 is about 6 feet tall with incredibly long and full branches that cascade to the ground.

July 10, 2026 – Fall Phlox
Despite the name, Fall Phlox, or Phlox paniculata, bloom in summer months, and are currently enjoying their time in the atrium of our community building.

July 3, 2026 – Milkweed
Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is currently thriving in the Medford Meadow and acts as an ideal pollinator for many insects including the threatened Monarch butterfly.
