April 18, 2025 – Flowering Crabapples
At many locations around our campus you will find these trees loaded with delicate blooms in shades of white and pink. They belong to the genus Malus which also includes domesticated orchard apple varieties.

March 29, 2025 – European Hornbeam
The European Hornbeam has unique buds resembling mini pine cones, which will soon mature into clusters of darker green leaves.

March 21, 2025 – Hellebore
The early-blooming Hellebores from the family Ranunculaceae have a common name of “Winter Rose”, but are not closely related to the Rose family.

March 14, 2025 – Spring is coming
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled when Out and About in the coming weeks because you never know – these daffodils look like they could bloom any minute.

February 21, 2025 – Mahonia
This Leatherleaf Mahonia is just one of the many broadleaf evergreen plants on campus. Other plants in this category include Holly, Boxwood, and Rhododendron.

February 14, 2025 – Snow
Snow can be a divisive topic, but it didn’t seem to bother this frog in the atrium garden.
