Introduced to North American in 1861, the Kousa Dogwood is an elegant Asian cousin of the familiar native flowering dogwood. This tree has gained popularity due to its disease resistance, long bloom of creamy bracts, colorful red fruit in late summer for the birds to enjoy, and last but not least, its interesting mosaic bark featured throughout the year. There are a number of Kousa Dogwoods on both campuses. The easiest to find and enjoy is located in the Atrium Garden on the Medford Campus.
