As you are out and about, visit Court 20 on the Medford Campus to see the Chinese Seven-Sons Tree, Heptacodium miconioides. This fountain-shaped tree features clusters of fragrant, creamy-white flowers in late summer to early fall. Flower clusters each contain seven tiny flowers (hence the common name). Exfoliating bark adds another layer of interest. This rare plant is native to China, and is a wonderful source of nectar for butterflies at this time of the year.
