October 29, 2021 – Dogwood

Cornus florida is a native Dogwood tree in our area. Not only does it give great blooms in the spring, but in the fall it generates beautifully colored red fruits.

For some reason, the fruit is especially abundant this year. While the fruits are not meant for humans, they are prized by many birds, such as Bluebirds, Robins and Cedar Waxwings.

This particular Dogwood is at the intersection of Medford Leas Way and Estaugh Way on the Medford Campus.
