Winterberry, Ilex verticillata, is a deciduous shrub native to our area. Right now you can enjoy the red berries that have been produced, and the birds will soon be flying in to feast on them.
These shrubs can be found in a number of locations, including the parking lot of the Lumberton Campus Community Center as well as Courts 13 and 21, known as the Holly Court. You can also catch a glimpse of these shrubs from inside as you walk from the Community Building on the Medford Campus towards Haddon and Woolman. Winterberry is planted in the area just opposite the Oak Room, a great location for all to enjoy.
