As you are out and about this week, check out the Yellow-Fruited American Holly (Ilex opaca xanthocarpa). The easiest one to find is planted in front of the Lois Forrest Nature Center on the Medford Campus.
This native evergreen provides treats for the birds to enjoy and is a lovely addition to our collection. We’ve recently added additional yellow berried hollies along Medford Leas Way near the Rushmore neighborhood.
