Did you know that Poinsettia plants come in all sizes and colors? Poinsettias are native plants in Mexico, where they flower during the winter.

Christmas wreaths have been used as a decorative sign of Christmas for hundreds of years. They are used to adorn any part of one’s home, inside or out. In many homes they are also considered symbols of growth and everlasting life.

This is a great time of the year to visit the Holly Court, where the garden is filled with many examples of different species of Holly trees and shrubs.

Nov. 18, 2022 – Yellow-fruited Holly
The easiest Yellow-Fruited American Holly (Ilex opaca xanthocarpa) to find is planted in front of the Lois Forrest Nature Center on the Medford Campus. Additional yellow berried hollies line Medford Leas Way near Rushmore.
