Commonly known as flame azalea, Rhododendron calendulaceum is an upright, loosely branched deciduous shrub that typically matures to 4-8′. It is native primarily to woodland slopes and areas within the Appalachian Mountains from Pennsylvania to Georgia.
Fortunately, you do not have to travel far to enjoy this lovely shrub. You can find it in the Atrium Garden on the Medford Campus, as well as Woods Cottage. Enjoy!
