Columnar trees add beautiful color and interest to the Arboretum. They have their own beauty that provides a wonderful contrast against wide-spreading trees. Their slender shape often makes them appear well-pruned and neat, even though they may not have been pruned in a while. Instantly, they add a bit of grace to the Arboretum. One example of this style of tree is the Columnar English Oak Regal Prince (Quercus robur), located near the Community Building Parking Lot on the Medford Campus.
