Who says trees can’t be fashionable? The Chionanthus virginicus tree, commonly known as Fringe tree, is a unique species that produces long, strand-like flowers. As you can see in this photo of a Fringe tree near the Lumberton Community Center, it is quite striking at full bloom. There are several others around our arboretum so be sure to look for them when you are Out and About.
