An area with a bit of early spring color is the Meditation Garden on the Medford Campus. Winter Wolf’s Bane (also called Winter Aconite) is coming into bloom. The small cup-shaped flowers, which sit on fans of bright green leaves, open at the first hint of warmth. As a bonus, the bulbs are deer and rodent resistant. They like to grow in woody areas, so the Meditation Garden, located off of Parking Lot B, is the perfect place to see this early sign of spring.
