June 4 to 10, 2017 – Spring is a wonderful time to plant new trees

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][su_spacer size=”10″]Over the past month, Ken Hutz, Arborist for Medford Leas, has been busy adding new specimen trees to our Arboretum on both Campuses.

Spring is a wonderful time to plant new trees. On the Lumberton Campus, three dwarf River Birch trees were added, along with a Weeping Red Bud tree, located by the Community Center. On the Medford Campus, new trees included a Columnar Tulip tree and Weeping Redbud tree in the Rushmore area, a Pond Cypress tree near the Nature Center, a Full Moon Maple tree and Carolina Silverbells tree in the area behind Court 5, a Paperbark Maple tree near the entrance to Court 66, and an American Elm tree by Parking lot H.

As you are out and about in the Arboretum, you may enjoy checking out these new specimens. Signs for these trees will follow later in the summer.[/su_column]
