Known and beloved for bright spring blooms, the Redbud tree, Cercis canadensis, is fascinating for another reason: the color gradient in its leaves! New growth is a bright orangey-green that turns much greener as it matures, resulting in a visually striking pattern. This specimen is on the corner of Woolman Way and Rushmore Lane but there are many others to look for when you are Out and About.
