Cercis canadensis, otherwise known as Redbud trees, add an incredible amount of color to the Arboretum at this time of the year. This native tree is a member of the bean family and is an attractive ornamental tree. The mauve and pink blossoms last for about two to three weeks, with heart shaped leaves to follow. You will find a number of these trees on both Campuses to enjoy, but they are most easily found in the Medford Campus Community Building parking lot, as well as by the entrance to the Lumberton Campus Community Center.
